Hunting the Elusive

Well, C73 is nearly upon us, and I guess right about now would be the time to do a post on what I'll be personally looking out for come the 31st (or whatever). Of course, given my current financial situation (VERY BAD), I probably won't be able to get most of the things I mention here.

I admit to having some hesitation when deciding to do this post, seeing that the list of artists I have an interest in is pretty damn long, and I knew it would take a few hours to compile all the information I need for this post. The C72 posts however, had set a precedence, and I again felt the need to catch up with what was going on, so here goes.

Akane Ikegami, 31 Dec, West A-19ab: AMR

This popular circle will be selling new full colour illustration book called "Book Concu!", a transparent plastic calendar (B4 size, ring bind), shopping bag, and some book.

Also a winter-themed telephone card of Fate.

Ariko Yohichi, 31 Dec, East A-71a: ARESTICA

Will be selling "Baby Talk 3", which is a h-doujin featuring Sasara, "Cherryade" which is a Little Busters themed h-doujin, as well as "Rough+Laugh Extra!", an illustration book, probably mostly in monochrome.

Tsuchiyama Niu, 31 Dec, East Shi-87b: Ataraxia

A new doujin called "Kuroneko Cafe". I like the rustic look of the cover, but the contents are probably just light comedy, monochrome.

Itou Ben, 31 Dec, Se-13a: Ben's Works

"The Another Concept Art" is based heavily around "Monster Hunter" or something, which is a project Ben is working on for the PSP. 28 pages, and it is probably majorly monochrome.

"Desire", a Miku book of 32 pages, 8 of which are colour. Also, some Fate Ataraxia shopping bags.

Ototsugu Konoe, Yuzuno Asaki, et al., 31 Dec, Shi-84a: Closet Child

Closet Child continues the maid series of "Noble Flowers" with volume 5 being released at C73. Cotton Garland 02 will also return to the table, but more excitingly, the "Lolita Style Calendar Set", which is CD-sized and made up of cards.

Two books: an 18+ Miku-fanbook, and a book of line drawings.

Ryo Ueda, 31 Dec, East Shi-75a: Fancy Fantasia

Very interested in the first book, which is "Alice to fushigi na gensou sekai", a full colour illustration book around the central theme of Alice in various fantastic places. "The Starlit Angel 2" is a collaboration work, nature unknown.

Fumio, 31 Dec (probably), Shi-44b: URA FMO

Besides the re-selling of Spyder, the rest of the stuff is new material. "It only sings" is an adult doujin of Miku, there is a Vocaloid girls telephone card, as well as a goods set containing a CD-sized calendar, paper bag, A4 sized clear file, rough illustration book "LDK", and a full colour "Cabriolet". Sounds like a good grab.

Monochrome illustration collection "Eye's Only miku-type". No prizes for guessing the subject of the illustrations.

Noizi Itou, 31 Dec, East A-58: Fujitsubo Kikai

No, I know that's not Noizi's real website, but that's where the doujin stuff for events go, so I'm linking it. Bleh!

I am frankly more interested in "Item A", "so", nature unknown. Here's hoping it's something awesome. And "Item B" has been mentioned in the blog rounds before, but its a collaboration (under the guise of warfare) between Noizi and Nanao Naruse. It includes a paper bag and a set of two stick posters (!), and should be noted that it has a separate stall, being at Shi-60 "AISU to CHOCO (Ice and Chocolate)".

Fururi, 30 Dec (!), East A-28b: Fururi

"Makafushigi" is a 32 page A4 original book, with 4 pages of colour. The goods pack comes with a CD made to look like a vinyl record, containing a song, a movie, and some omake (probably illustration) material. Also one post card and a jewel case cover for the CD.

"Setsugekka" a full colour 20 page B5 size book, is mostly concerned with Touhou stuff.

And then there is a C73 limited goods pack for 2500 yen, with a paper bag, A3 sized shitajiki and telephone card, some heart shape thing whose function I am unable to ascertain, a pack of bath salts, and an A4 colour book.

Tokumi Yuiko, 30 Dec (!), East Shi-61: Hakkaya

All we know is that Tokumi Yuiko will be there.

Mitha, 31 Dec, East Hall 4 Shi-72ab: Indico lite

 

In addition to "Rhythmic", a Vocaloid-based fan book, there will also be a Miku phone card and post card, a pair of stick posters, and IL Vol. 5, a digital CG collection.

Kantoku, 29 Dec (!), A-04a: Go nen me no houkago

Kantoku is surprisingly going to be at Comiket on the first day, selling an adult-only "Kage", a full colour illustration book. Also, there will be a calendar-poster.

He is also collaborating with a few other circles, most notably "Nostalgic Children" on the 31st, at East Mi-20b, which I think is a promotional sketch book for some game.

Kinohara Hikaru, 31 Dec, A-06b: Lili Marleen

Lili Marleen will be selling two new 18+ only works: Arrest and Romance

Mibu Natsuki, 31 Dec, East A-20ab: Lily Lily Rose

Apparently, only the main doujin is a new work: "Orange Blossom". A 40 page illustration book, exactly half of which is in colour and the other half is monochrome. Various other older books will also be on sale.

Matsushita Makako, 31 Dec, C-16b: Makarakko

Probably just a monochrome Miku doujin, but the site indicates some extra stuff too, though no details.

Miki Miyashita, 31 Dec, East Hall 6 Shi-05: Kyougetsutei

"Sekai no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo miku" is a 32 page adult-only book, which puns on that Evangelion episode title "The Beast Who Shouted 'Ai' (or I) At the Heart of the World", which in turn is based on "The Beast that Shouted Loveat the Heart of the World" (Harlan Wilson, 1969).

The goods set contains the adult-only CitronRibbon 15, a paper bag, a clear poster for Miku, a mug, a Miko New Years Card. Apparently the mug has a funky feature where the bath tub the girl is in disappears when hot water is poured in. \o/

Tenmu Shinryuusai, 31 Dec, A-81ab: Nagomi

 

Nagomiko will be selling a set containing the full colour "Wafuku" illustration book, a clear stick poster, a clear file, and a paper bag.

 

There will also be another set for the "Miko Miko Shita Hon", another full colour illustration book, which contains the book and I think a paper bag.

Namamo Nanase, 31 Dec, East Se-09a: Umi Tsuushin

What you say! Namamo Nanase is going to Comiket? In this first excursion, a new full colour book, something else, and a Summer Comiket book (limited quantities)!

Rio Mogami, 31 Dec, East Hall 4 Me-01a: Nekoyanagi

Nekoyanagi will be selling "Congeries", a 44 page full colour illustration book, Bonbonniere, a 20 page (4 pages of colour) of illustrations and rough sketches. Also a set of calendar cards, as well as "Opaque Ephemera # 0.5" whic is something unknown.

Also, older works such as Chapeau 05, Myrtille sorbet vol.01. Also a Nekoyanagi postcard collection.

Yukiwo, 31 Dec, Shi-43a: Fukunoren

This time, Yukiwo is collaborating with another circle. A one-copy-per-person limitation is applied to the A4 size clear file, which is double side (one side per artist). "*electronical communication*" is an 18+ only 20 page greyscale Miku doujin.

"Candy Rabbit" is a Beatmania DX-based book, 24 pages, greyscale. "chocolate factory" (not to be mixed up with the now-defunct doujin circle) is a QMA 18+ book, 12 pages, monochrome. "Inertia Bugi" is yet another monochrome adult book based on the "Death Smiles" game, 12 pages.

A bit of a disappointment here in terms of coloured content.

Oono Tetsuya, 31 Dec, A-40: Pussy Cat

 

Oono Tetsuya continues flogging Prism Ark, with the Prism Ark UItimate Cg illustrations, A4 size, 100 pages! Features various illustrations, as well as illustrations in their full size (they were cropped to fit onto the screen for the game). Also, "Prism Miku" a CD of Prism Ark music set to the Vocaloid software Miku voice. There is also a paper bag, as well as a Prism Ark crystal keychain.

mikeou, 31 Dec, Shi-45a: Pink Chuchu

First of all, there's the Otsukai Blade compilation which summarises all the serial components into one volume, plus an illustration gallery. It's A4 sized, 100 pages.

Secondly, Koisuru Kitsetsu, a M X O based 36 page adult-only manga.

Thirdly, Pink Chuchu did the illustrations for the Sanarika Ohanashi CD, which is a drama CD of some game.

Fourth, a shitajiki and telephone card set.

The goods set contains a paper bag, a clear file, a 7-leaf B4 sized calendar, 2 stand-pops, as well as an omake booklet.

Hato Rami, 31 Dec, East Shi-59a: Hato no Tamago

A FULL COLOUR book by Hato Rami (a rarity to be sure), called "Love Blood", focusing on the lingerie of the android on the cover. 24 pages.

"petit blood" is a rough illustration book of 8 pages, which comes with a clear shitajiki. There's also a new postcard set, and a pocket tissue thing.

REI, 31 Dec, Shi-81a: Rei's Room

"Miku Miku Miracle! 2" consists of colour illustration (12 pages) and Miku manga (12 pages) making 24 pages total.

 

There is also a clear pouch and 4-sheet postcard set, two cups (one Miku, the other Hayate). Rounding off the goods set, a paper bag.

Satoshi Kiba, 30 Dec (!), East Shi-60b: Retro

Retro's new book "Boo-Boo-Booing" is a full colour one. There's also a paper bag, and something else from COMIC1.

Roruo, 31 Dec, Shi-68b: Gothical Blade

I think "Draw of the Dead" is a doujin. Nevertheless, I am intrigued by Roruo's stuff, as always.

zinno, 31 Dec, East C-07a: Spread-Pink

"Zangetsu 4", a 16 page colour book. Looks quite yum.

Yuuki Tatsuya, 31 Dec, East Shi-82a: Studio SDT

Apparently, "Trashbox #16" will be sold at Comiket, but there are indications that "Trashbox #Recycle2" (a roughbook plus wallpaper CG CD set) MIGHT (low probability) also see a release.

For those not already aware, Studio SDT is one of a few sources of HR Touhou stuff.

Takanae Doko, 31 Dec, A-03a: Takanedoko

 

Takane is coming out with a few new books. First of all, the final version of "Endless My Turn", which is 36 pages, and supposedly coloured, based around the black magician girl character of Yu-gi-oh. "Megaraba 2" is a 20 page original book. There's also a telephone card and board set, with limited quantities.

Takoyaki, 31 Dec, East Hall 4 Shi-55b: Kogemashita

Takoyaki's new book "Kanten" is a full colour 16 page original illustration book.

Senoo Tatsuya, 31 Dec, West Su-17b: TEDDY-PLAZA

A 54 page Maple Leaf x Touhou manga of sorts.

Suzuri, 31 Dec, East A-82b: Tennenseki

 

"Inu Basu! Neko Basu!" is a Little Busters based book, and it comes with a stick poster as a set. "20071231" is an event-only illustration book. Probably monochrome.

Tokiame, 31 Dec, East N-36b: SWAY WIND

YAY! Carefree Scribble Vol 2, a 20 page, all colour book.

Mako Tatekawa, 31 Dec, Z-35a: WNB

Yep! Another full colour book: Kanadeiro Ehon. 20 pages of WNB goodness.

The goods set is pretty huge too. It consists of "Petit Petit", a greyscale illustration book of 12 pages. Also a clear plastic bag, a round Hayate mouse pad, a 2008 desk calendar (13 sheets) complete with case, a mobile phone hanger/cleaner, plus two stick posters: one for TH2 Another Days and the other of Miku.

But that's not all! How about a Fate/Stay Night telephone card and shitajiki set? And a Zero no Tsukaima Louise tote bag and stick poster set? The Hatsune Miku stick poster from the set will be also distributed free of charge for the first few people who spend over 1000 yen.

WNB will also feature in Hisuitei's full colour book "ColorfulPop4" (East Shi-16)

This is worth looking into too. "Hina Asobi" is a Hinagiku-based 18+ book, probably manga style. As mentioned before ColorfulPop 4 is a full colour illustration book with various artists as guests. The goods set consists of a paper bag, a mobile hanger, a towel, MOEPOP8 (a rough book), clear shitajiki, and a clear file, whilst there is another set for a dakimakura cover and telephone card.

Yuki Usagi, 31 Dec, East C-15b: GABALL SCREEN

"Noizi Maniacs 2" is probably a monochrome book with illustrations based on Itou Noizi characters.

Yuuri Nishiwaki, 31 Dec, East Ri-30b: Maaburuparetto

Gururi Vol 7 is a 52 page book with 20 colour pages and 28 pages monochrome.

Well, that's all I have for now. There were some on my list that I did not talk about but that's nothing to be concerned about. It's just that some of them are using very complicated arrangements and it would be a pain to dig it all out.

If there's one thing I've noticed, it's the obvious saturation of Miku stuff in this year's doujin scene. Wheeee.
