Hunting the Elusive

This is an unbelievably long post covering what some artists will be putting out for the Comic Market 74 event, which runs from 15 to 17 August. I opened nearly 170 tabs in a Firefox window to check out the artists. It's quite unbelievable how many artists I have bookmarked. In fact, it is bloody ridiculous. Of course, I have eliminated some (don't expect 170 artists here) who are not participating or have made the information too hard to get. It took around 3 days to compile all this info, what a pain. And I'm not even going. Anyway, there are a few pretty epic things coming out at Comiket, a larger proportion of all-colour things than previously, as well as the usual Keumaya goodness (right at the very end).

I must say Japanese artists sometimes make it so hard to get information. Most of them have the sensibility to have a separate C74 info page with flashing links to them (not really), but sometimes information is buried in blogs (and in July entries, not recent ones). Where the information was too hard to get, I just let it go. Also, the information might not be accurate because I kinda suck at Japanese.

How to use this entry: "It's simple. Use the pictures." Browse. Scroll down through the page until you see a picture you like, then check out the information and artist site. You might also look out so you don't miss the compiled info pics that some artists like Kantoku and CARNELIAN use. Those are basically an entire page of information in a pic. On this post, the moe-ness in those pictures cannot be accessed unless you click to see the big versions.

BTW, the artists are not catalogued in any particular order (just what my bookmarks give me). No alphabetical organisation or anything. Ctrl-F might be your friend if you are looking for specific artists. Then again, the naming conventions are not regular at all. Sometimes I use the group names, other times their real names. Sorry about that.

Ben Ito: Has not decided what do yet, but will definitely be there. Third day, Shi-23b

Closet Child: Zetsubou Sensei book, but also has other art. No location given, wtf.

FMO: All colour book "Vario". No date given (probably third day), A-60a

Fururi: Has illustrated jacket for "Colors", a Little Busters arrange CD to be sold at Re-11b by emroots on 2nd day. Also, will be having a stall with Chronolog again, also second day, A-51b. Looks like a Touhou pack, with stick poster, a book and a collaboration book with Chronolog.

Hakkaya: Plus Minus 3 and Plus Minus 4. First day, Shi-29

Indico Lite: New book. 3rd day, Shi-72ab

Kantoku: "Let's Check Pattern", a full colour 32 page book, an adult monochrome book, two clear stick posters, bag. Various guests will be featured in the colour book, and Kantoku art will appear in five other publications. 2nd day, A-17b

Lily Lily Rose: Clear file, stick poster, and a bondage-theme book, probably monochrome adult nature. Third day, A-43a

Namamonanase: In case you didn't know, Namamonanase is Kaitsushin, which is a H doujin circle. Rozen Maiden full colour doujin "L'Intoxication Mercurielle". Third day, Se-13a.

Okito Endoh: Apparently going to be there, insufficient information. Probably to continue the H-doujin series which has been released volume by volume at the events.

PenZenIchiNyo: Renewed full colour book with works from 2004 to 2006. Might have new stuff, might not. OMG anyway. Third day, C-25b

Pink Chuchu (Mikeou): Did the catalogue illustration, the usual stuff for K-books, Sanarika CD: A CD-ROM and a B5 full colour 20 page booklet. Doing stuff for some other people as well. Artist-wise, Moetsubo12 is the 8-page free present for early buyers, "Lyrical Ehon" 80 page all colour book with glittery cover. Sales restricted to adults. "Trouble Love", a To Love Ru H-doujin, original H-doujin "Mousou Chuudoku",  and a goods set with paper bag, towel, fan, telephone card, shitajiki. According to the blog, there is also an original-illustration JR Orange Card (not a telecard?), and a poster-set. Might not be at the event because of health problems, so getting sales reps to help out instead.

ElectromagneticWave (POP): Hari no Sora, possibly something similar to Ashita no Ashioto. Might have bundled music (?) 2nd day, A-15ab.

Hato no Tamago (Hato Rami): Might re-sell papillon, but will probably have a new work. Third day, Shi-58a.

Chronolog (Sakurazawa Itumi): See Fururi's entry. Also will be reselling Angelica, which was released during Sunshine Creation.

Teddy Plaza: Not sure what is going on here. Apparently still work in progress. Might possibly see the "Tenshi no iru 11 getsu" (a parody of the Tenshi no nai 12 getsu game, but replace the "Angel" tenshi with the Scarlet Rhapsody ultimate troll Tenshi). 2nd day, A-50a.

Tokiame: web translator sucks. Will be probably partnering with Sin-Go (Tiny Feather) in a stall (that makes it 3rd day, Shi-14b). I think it'll be a republish/renewal of the Houmu vol 1 CD-rom into a book form.

WNB: Fate theme, but no further information yet. Third day, A-50b

Gaball Screen (YukiUsagi): New summer vacation theme full colour book (very ecchi if not H), and a republished book. Third day, Tei-56a

Ataraxia: Maid summer theme book. Third day, Shi-73b

Creative Art Team CAT: Creative Mind, an all ages book, 8 pages full colour illustrations, 28 pages monochrome.  Monster Hunter theme MH2, adult doujin. Third day, No-01b

Chirizakura: "with together", a 32 page doujin, nature unknown. Third day, Fu-11a.

Moo: New Touhou theme "Fruitpunch" book. No money if you bet it's going to be monochrome. Third day, Ma-27a.

At this point, I mourn the fact that Chocolate Shop website has disappeared off the Internets. I know the doujin part is dead, but c'mon.

Crossroad (Masakichi): Chika Kosu 5, as in Chikage (Sispri, lol) Costume Play. H-doujin with Anna Miller (restaurant waitress) theme. 28 pages. Third day, A-30a.

Empathy: Felicitar 2.5, 20 pages, full colour. Also, a stick poster. Third day, Ni-17b

ZippersRoom: Shugo Chara Fan Book. Probably third day, Shi-5ab

Essentia: Adult-only To Love Ru book. First day, Shi-19ab with "Yan-Yam". Third day, M-45a.

Hisuitei: An adult Monster Hunter fanbook, a full colour "ColorfulPop5", a goods set with paper bag, fan, bandanna, rough book "MoePop10", and clear file. Also a colour microfibre towel. Third day, Re-52ab.

Down+Down: Craft Works III, a monochrome 20 page illustration book. Third day, Yo-07b.

Nagomiko: "Nagareru Kami ga Daisuki na Hito he", a full colour book. Clear shitajiki, fan, and paper bag. Third day, A-84ab

Pussy.Cat: 100 limitation copy book (monochrome).

Pico-ba: 2 new books, goods. No further information. Third day, Se-21a.

REI's Room: "Pretty Present Perfect", 32 page full colour book. "Magic * Rider", probably a doujin. Dakimakura cover (dual sided), fan, PVC bag. Third day, Shi-47b.

Gothical Blade: "Draw of the Dead 2", which if it is like the rest of the Comiket releases by this group, will be monochrome doujin. Third day, Shi-67a.

Kokikko (Yau Sesena): "Natsuiro", a Hayate no Gotoku Hinagiku book with 36 pages, 8 of which are in colour. First day, Shi-27b.

Snow Ring dmyo: Dmyotic 3, "Oblivion" post card set, telephone straps. Third day, Mi-05b.

Spread-Pink zinno: "zangetsu Licht", a 16 page full colour book. Contains Code Geass, Macross F, etc. Third day, C-08b.

 

Studio-SDT: Probably not going to be Touhou. Exact nature unknown, but wallpaper of the thing is provided here. Third day, Shi-88a.

Takoyaki: "As normal, a full colour book". Apparently. Good stuff. Third day, Shi-64a.

Tennenseki: B1 size poster (not sure, this might be just for stall display). Little Busters theme again. Third day, A-72b.

Donkin Darnuts: H Udonge (Touhou) doujin. Third day, Te-41b.

Fancy Fantasia: "ALICE to Fushigi na Gensou Sekai 2", a full colour 20 page book that promises to be as awesome as the first. Third day, Shi-88b.

Oshaban: 2 new books, 2 goods, a cloth-based thing, and a full colour paper bag. Third day, Re-51a.

Hinako Satomi: Unsure what is being released. Third day, A-12ab

Raita: B5 size, mahou shoujo theme, 32 page manga. Third day, A-16ab

Lu Sear (Daisei Aikawa): Four new books. "Nostalgia", a full colour illustration book compiling stuff this artist did for magazines. 28 pages. "Chaos Mode", a fire theme illustration book redrawn from 2007, 20 pages. "Another Story", a water theme completing the elemental series by this artist, 20 pages. "Cielo", an angel, general audience book, 20 pages. If all four new books are purchased, there is a bonus limited edition postcard to be had.

Pandagaippiki: 36 page (32 pages of comics) h-doujin of IdolM@ster, "Horizon Blue". Included is a free 8 page adult monochrome booklet. Third day, Hi-30b.

Tony Taka: I don't need to cover this. Needless to say it will be awesome. As for where he is...follow the queue.

Zerumono (Puchi+/Akita Linco): 72 page cross dressing theme Hdoujin. Neko-mimi 20 page monchrome book "PUCHI+MIX #080817". The set contains both books, a fan, an A5 size rough book, paper bag. There is also a bonus postcard for the early buyers. Third day, N-17a

Onineko: Probably will not be there, but did illustrations for Nick-Ninth's new vocaloid-based album, which will be sold on the second day, at Re-28a.

CranBerryCrown: Joint book with Onineko "Suiren hana". Third day, Ri-04a.

EnHANCE HEART plus: "Headfirst", a Touhou colour illustration book. Second day, A-39b

Wadarco: "Damsel in Distress", a colour illustration book with 14 pages. Free post card, and previously published book. Third day, Ma-30b.

Nekoyanagi: Not a lot of information except there will be a book and goods. There is a picture of a glass cup, as well as a rough sketch of what to expect. Third day, Ma-33a.

Shigunyan: Themes: Nekomimi, Vocaloid, Zero no Tsukaima Louise, etc. Paper bag with Fate and Reimu looking cute, "Gentei Bon", Zero no Tsukaima H-doujin, a clear file with nekomimi Louise, and three other adult books. Third day, Shi-11a

CARNELIAN: BENIGYOKUZUI vol.20, original colour and monochrome illustration book. "Midnight Car Radio", a Macross F h-doujin. Goods set: paper bag, tumbler inserts, and a booklet. Also, a telephone card, and a fan.

Coconut Bless: "Princess Bouquet", a full colour 16 page doujin. "Ice Cream", 20 page, unsure if the contents are full colour. A full-colour paper bag, shitajiki, telephone card. A free rough illustration book "Coromix 4" of Code Geass, Hatsune Miku and Little Busters given to limited numbers of early buyers. Third day, Shi-12a

John Hathway: 20 page "views of the world" colour illustration book, and a bonus DVD. Possible full colour Vocaloid illustration book of 8 or 12 pages. Re-selling "Extreme Lolita" from Comitia. Apparently the DVD contains some photos and a animation (wut).

Keumaya: Next generation of doujin figures. This time the gimmick is sound. Press a button on the figure and it says something. There are two types to choose from: Nowaaru and Tate-chan. The third figure pictured is a re-modelled version of an old figure which does not have sound. I prefer Tate-chan (the one with ponytail). Voice samples here. Expect bundled doujin as well. A chibi figure is also available (either bundled or buy separately, not sure). Second day, Re-35ab. Third day, Ne-29a, Ne-29b.
