Comiket 72 Watch (Part 1)
Yes, Comic Market 72 is coming soon. As you know, I have over the years of blogging built up quite a list of artists whose works I like, making it a pain in the arse every time there is a doujin convention to keep up with releases. That said, it's still less of a pain than actually going there and trying to track them down manually. Today, I have decided to sit down and write this blog post to force myself to become updated on the artists on my bookmark list. So here is some information gleaned from the Internet regarding what's going to be seen at the sweatfest of C72.
Yukiwo (Fukunoren, A-17a, 19 August) will be selling an 8-page full colour book(let) called Ningen Fushin. In addition, there will be 3 hentai doujin's more or less all based on IdolM@ster and one line art "copy book".
URA (AC-Promenade, East RE-49a, 19 August) will be selling some old stock -- his 2004 52 page (4 colour pages) Walk Days illustration book with CG collection CD-ROM, as well as the 2006 Walk Days 2 which is a collection of comics. I think the first Walk Days might be worth getting, and hopefully this Comiket will make it easier to get this one.
Akane Ikegami (AMR, East Shi-28ab, 19 August) will be hawking Kachou Fuugetsu, a full colour illustration book, a 2007 Summer goods set (paper bag, clear poster, clear shitajiki, and uchiwa round fan), a Lucky Star themed mug, and a towel based on Nanoha A's. I think that the Kachou Fuugetsu book will be definitely worth getting, though no word on page count.
AP (AP, Mi-04a, 19 August) will be selling Good Bye Star Egg, an IdolM@ster fan book. I think it's just a normal doujin however.
Itou Ben (Ben's Works, A-18b, 19 August) will be presenting his second book based on "Monster Hunter", The Another Concept Art [Preview], as well as a B2 sized poster. It seems that it will be mostly illustrations of the dragons and creatures of Monster Hunter, so perhaps no girls this time. Still, it would be awesome to have a B2 poster from him, though he did state that he didn't have enough protective cardboard tubes to safely store those posters in.
Amane Hibiki (Brain Soft, East Ne-06a, 19 August) will be there, but there is no specific information about new works. Probably another installment of his long-running Eye's Only series of doujins.
Fururi (Fururi/Chronolog, East A-58b, 18 August) seems to be making a pretty big showing (which makes sense, considering the stall is an alliance). Fururi's new work is a 20 page all-colour Lucky-Star-based illustration book called "A!", whilst Chronolog presents another big hentai doujin, with the 88 page "Kikyou ni Somaru, Sora no Iro".
They will also be selling a Touhou Goods set, with a paper bag, clear file, two-sided folding fan, mouse pad, and a 8-page full colour A4 book which can only be obtained with the set.
As if that wasn't enough, they also have an original goods set, with two boxed glass tumblers, a pair of stick posters, and paper coaster. Both goods sets are event-limited.
Yohichi Ariko (Arestica, East A-71a, 19 August) will be selling "Lots of Love", a 108 page To Heart/To Heart 2 h-doujin, "Traffics 02", a 24 page Dennou Coil h-doujin, and "Chelsea Dagger", a 52 page Code Geass h-doujin. "Chelsea Dagger" will come with a two-sided colour folder. There is also a book card (wut?) and an old Gurren Lagann doujin "World One Sign".
Mitha (Indico Lite, East4 Shi-85ab, 19 August) is going to be selling "Rainbow II", a full-colour illustration collection book for GIFT, with an accompanying telephone card. There will also be a printed "CLEAR" handkerchief of 53cmx53cm, and a full colour shitajiki, also based on CLEAR.
Kamiyoshi (GALVAS, East D-10b, 19 August) will be selling a new work "Houkago Kisekae KURABU", a neko-mimi-based h-doujin of 24 pages. Also, an 8 page full colour book containing illustrations from Kamiyoshi's website, which is a previously-published work, called "Colourful Nyanko Chotto Dake DRAGON" (or whatever) will be sold, along with "Gin no Spoon", a cross-gendered neko-mimi h-doujin, and zarzarrosa4, another doujin thingo. Why do I bother... -_-;
Kantoku (Go nen me no houkago, A-30a, 17 August), will sell the "Go nen me COLLECTION", which is 88 pages of goodness, with 28 pages of full colour illustrations. Additionally, there will be an event-limited round fan. That's like, tomorrow!
Malino (Deja Vu Artworks, East Re-60a, 19 August) seems to be going for a big turnout this time round too. Firstly, there's the lolita-ased 12 page all colour "Lollipop", a 48 page full colour "K-Works", another 48 page full colour "MALINOARTWORKS", then an A4 sized paper bag, a jigsaw puzzle, and another full colour 24 page "Deja Vu Maid book". There's also some past works like PullMeUnder, Birthlight, and Fallen, which is a CD-ROM art collection, plus a Shining Force EXA shitajiki. Great news if you're a fan of Malino -- this artist seems to release everything in full colour!
Mibu Natsuki (Lily lily rose, East A-36, 19 August) will be showing off "cute uniform 02", "UNPLUGGED" (both h-doujins), and a clear uniform based off "cute uniform". The clear file looks nice.
Okito (70 Nen Shiki Yuukyuu Kikan, East Shi-73a, 19 August) will be presenting "Grassialabolis" which is a h-doujin in his distinctive style.
Mikeou (PINK CHUCHU, East-3, A-41ab, 19 August) is having a mega spread of stuff. "Moe Tsubo 10" is a limited "first arrival present" consisting of 8 pages. "Sanarika Majyo no Hatsukoi" (nature unknown) will also be sold.
The main stuff will include "Chronicle2", a full colour 100 page collection of CG and illustrations from 1999 to 2007 (all up 150 illustrations are printed in this book). The other thing to look out for is "Smile Summer Again", the 4th collection of Mikeou's CG CD-ROMs, revolving around the summer theme. Contains high-resolution wallpapers.
"Honto no Kimochi" is a 44 page h-doujin. "Clover2" is a 28 page h-doujin based on Sister Princess.
Also being sold is a telephone card and shitajiki set, and a summer good set (transparent fan, mouse pad, a pair of cardboard pops, a bonus booklet, and a bag).
Here ends part one of the Comiket 72 watch list. Part II will hopefully be forthcoming soon. Hopefully it's been a fulfilling read (or skim) for you. It's been pretty painful collecting all this information.

How do you order items from Comiket? I noticed you have a rather large collection doujin items.
Darn. All the pretty stuff! I’m interested in most of them. Are you getting someone to get C72’s stuff for you this year round?
Well, there is the Comiket service (http://www.comiketservice.com/) which provides a limited sale of doujins, but I’m still not sure how updated they are on their stuff, and they don’t replenish stock once they sell out. Their ordering mechanism is also pretty clunky. There’s also a choice of having a deputy order directly from each artist’s site in the case where the artist allows ordering, but that’ll kill in terms of deputy fees. Unfortunately I don’t have contacts in place who will go to the actual event and get stuff for me, so I’ll probably have to selectively pick up some stuff from Yahoo Auctions in the days following C72.
