New Hunt: DEJI E No Bunpou
(デジ絵の文法): A series from Japanese Fuji TV regarding the production methods of illustrators. Main site, DVD coming out 20 June 2007, OnDemand streaming site (Japanese IPs only: each stream costs 210 yen), official blog. Each episode focuses on one or two artists, and how they deal with various issues that come up during illustration.

The first episode, for example, looks at the theme of "pupils" and compares how two artists draw the eyes of their characters to give life to them. Episode 2 talks about shading the skin surface of characters, episode 3 focuses on okama (illustrator for Getsumen Heiki Miina), episode 4 is on "hair", episode 5 is "light", episode 6 is "background", etc. Of course what I really need to look for is episode 12, which talks about YukiUsagi and shows how he creates the following pic (previously covered):
YouTube has various episodes (#1, #5, #6, #8), though not the one I want.
The DVD coming out in June only contains 5 artists (i.e.: only the first three episodes). So if anyone has Share running or has a Japanese IP address and knows how to rip a web stream, I need your help!
HUNT UPDATE:
Found them ^_^. NicoVideo has them, and here are the FLV's for episode 12: YukiUsagi. It's a great episode. Part 1 of 2. Part 2 of 2. FLV's can be opened via a FLV Player, but Media Player Classic works for me too. Now we just have to wait for higher quality versions (though these FLV's seem to be of sufficient quality to watch it fullscreen).
