Artbook Review: Bungaku Shoujo Fantasy Art Book
At 64 pages, Bungaku Shoujo Fantasy Art Book (ISBN 9784047264908) is not a substantial volume at all, making it quite fortunate that the price is 1000 yen pre-tax. It contains two Chapters. The first is a selection of art from the actual Bungaku Shoujo by original artist Miho Takeoka, while the second has fan art from various artists. These are themselves divided into illustrations of the fantasy stories which are part of Bungaku Shoujo or fan art of the novels’ characters themselves. [Review][PNG]
With the first chapter of Bungaku Shoujo Fantasy Art Book, it is not really necessary to go into too much detail. It is 30 pages long, and the Miho Takeoka art can be seen as an update from the original 2008 book Bungaku Shoujo no Galerie d’Art.
Many of the illustrations are spread over two pages. For this review, I just scanned in the side with the girl.
The second chapter, 27 pages long, is a bit more interesting. It features artists like Migi, Eiji Kaneda, Kuramoto Kaya, Sunaho Tobe, Hato Rami, Nakajima Atsuko, and Mutsuki Akira. These artists did page spreads for the fantasy stories.
Illustrating the characters of Bungaku Shoujo are Fruits Punch (an artist I have been getting into recently), BLADE, Takuya Fujima, x6suke, Mikaki Mikako, kona, Miyama0, and Chouniku.
