The Watch: Comic Market 77 (Part 3)
Theoretically, The Watch will not end, as every time I look through the artists, hyperlinks lead to more artists being added to the list. We’re at this stage around two-thirds of the way through my bookmarks, so we’re making good progress. Despite the impressive-sounding 280 bookmarks, many of these are either too 18+, or are too small to have a presence at Comiket yet, so helping trim down these posts by quite a bit. Again, artists are not organised in any recognisable manner, so let’s navigate purely visually.
We’ll start the list today with a special look at what Pixiv is offering for C77.

Pixiv-tan Illustration Collection Vol 2: Full colour 24 pages, featuring versions of the Pixiv mascot by 31 illustrators, including Nardack and TNSK, amongst others.

Black Rock Shooter ~ Flow My Tears, The Girl Said: huke is also doing the front page illustration for this 48 page full colour book, featuring illustrations from 61 artists. Some have questioned the need for us to get the BRS Visual Art Works 2 book, given the availability of this volume. The answer to this is that this blog is creator-centric, so the huke part of the equation weighs more than the BRS part.
Touhou Boshi Hachisusen Gashuu: A 60 page full colour Touhou collection artbook with the front cover illustration by Pixel Phantom.
2010 Touhou Calendar: Touhou Gensai Reki: A full colour calendar set, of 54 pages (one page per week?!). Touhou theme.

pixel phantasmagoria: 14 colour pages, 30 monochrome. A collection of past commercial and other works.
Kero-chan no eroihon: with a title like that, it comes as no surprise that this is a 20 page 18+ doujin.
Bath goods set: includes paper bag, towels and bath oil set.
Also involved with COOL&CREATE (music), and a corporate booth.
At the same stall, EL2 is releasing Touhou Tamashii TRIBUTE, a colour and monochrome illustration book. However, I’m not such a big fan of the artist.

Little Maid! is a Little Busters! fanbook.
Iromonogatari is a Bakemonogatari fanbook. Has a colour cover, but likely to be monochrome within. 18+ in any case.

Now is the winter of Love Plus made glorious summer by this sun of IdolM@ster.
Not really.
blue colors is a 20 page illustration + manga book dedicated to Chihaya. This contains colour illustrations (quite a number from the looks of it).
Not to be confused with the omake blue colors # which is firmly monochrome.
Adults are catered for with the eight page Santa Claus is coming doujin.
A drinking glass is also available.

New book, UNDER STELLAR, is a full colour illustration book of 20 pages.
Will be reselling Be in a Gravity and CONTRAIL from previous events (both are full colour books).
Also involved in various other things, like the Golden City Factory Crimson Moon of Dawn – Interview with the Scarlet.

Yes, this artist is involved with the EL Touhou tribute book as mentioned above (did the illustration for the pinup). But perhaps more significant is Ropunooru, a full colour illustration book.
Meanwhile, Kaosukarunabaru #4 seems to be a Nanoha doujin.

画vol.05, a 24 page full colour illustration book, to follow through on previous doujin releases. Includes stuff from Love Plus.
Omake is 画mini vol.02, which is an 8 pager monochrome.
Also involved in the With Kitty project (did illustration for strap and bag), which you can check out by yourself. Pro-tip: you can order the With Kitty sets directly from the sites using a compatible deputy service. (Tongue-in-cheek pro-tip 2: deputy services should be paying me commissions.)

P6 PLUS is a Love Plus theme full colour illustration book of 20 pages.

Looks to be all 18+ stuff here, with Honey * Honey and Sweet Vanilla, both of which are probably doujins. The event special is a Railgun shitajiki.

Little*Eden, a full colour illustration compile book of stuff done by this artist in 2009.
Will be re-selling Blanc et Noir from 2008 and a postcard set.

Kyoto, Haru. is a collaboration between Takeuchi Takashi (Type-Moon fame) and Kobayashi Jin, based on a trip to Kyoto in Spring. At 36 pages, A3 size, this is a pretty large book, 2000 yen.
I think this represents a must-get for many people, especially us rabid Kara no Kyoukai fans. Expect prices to be crazy-high on auctions.

Komorebi Note COLORS vol5, 32 pages full colour book.
Extreme Love Plus Dou Deshou 2009 Aki Honshuu Hen: 28 pages, Love Plus based. Looks to be full colour.

Candy Orgel (in hiragana): nice cover, but is a 20 page monochrome 4koma.
Re-release of sweet rose and Higashi no Hana which are in similar form. Also, Rosen Maiden Calendar will be distributed, looking at a 15 pager full colour in a CD case, I think.

Saki Graphics has eight pages of colour, then the rest is monochrome. Looks pretty darn good.

This Korean artist is releasing Irogami1.0 which looks to be a colour illustration book (but no details yet).
Goods will be taking the form of an eco bag, and the stall will also sell BF-san’s Donuts Hole, which is that particular artist’s illustration collection.
Irogami1.0 could be an interesting prospect, since up to now, this artist has released mostly 18+ doujin mangas.

Lyric heart, a regular monochrome manga.
Goods set includes the above, plus a paper bag, three stick posters, a 2010 desktop calendar, and a copy book.

Nekopyo11 is a 4koma, monochrome, 28 pages.
Hamu’s Ark 2 should be interesting, though it is 18+, but it seems to be a full colour 16 page original illustrations book.
2010 desk calendar is Love Plus themed, eight pages, full colour, I think.
Other goods include bag and clear file, as well as a mug.

Involvement in RE:EV, which is themed for the theatrical EVA movies. Did the front cover and I think some illustrations.
I’m not really sure as to what this doujin is about. I think it collects a number of different people’s opinions about the Evangelion movies, as well as interviews. Consists of 80 pages, but don’t expect it to be pictorially heavy.
Involvement in illustrating Rebuild the path: Catalinaosy album.
Involvement in many other things, some of which I have covered before.
New publication is Gospelic Ichizero Girls, in collaboration with COSMIC FORGE. 28 pages, full colour.
So ends Part Three. Is this rather shorter than the other parts? Perhaps the strain of all this research is starting to show.
Part Four should be the last instalment and I will be working on that soon. I’m sure I’ve missed quite a lot of major artists, but wait for Part 4 before requesting more coverage or pointing out who I’ve missed. Remember, I relegated some big name artists to the last bookmark slot due to them not having information out when I started.
